Ex-Wing Boss Heads Powerboat Fund Drive

Jack Adams, former general manager of the Detroit Red Wings, Thursday was named chairman of a drive to raise funds to stage an unlimited powerboat race in Detroit this summer.

Adams, working with the race boat owners and members of the Detroit International Regatta Assn., hopes to raise $18,000 on a subscription basis.

Racing enthusiasts wishing to join in the fund-raising drive may contact Adams by writing to: Jack Adams, P.O. Box 3208, Detroit, 14.

The 1962 Detroit Memorial and Silver Cup races were canceled because of the lack of funds.
