RACE NOTES
FRIDAY:

Jean Theoret once more topped qualifying with a 150.093 MPH lap, with Jimmy Shane's U-1 close behind at 147.737 MPH and Andrew Tate's U-9 in third at 147.598. The 2nd/3rd/4th place boats were within 1 MPH of each other at 147.XXX MPH, and all boats qualified.
SATURDAY:

HEAT 1A had J. Michael Kelly on top over Jimmy King and Brian Perkins, with Jimmy Shane in fourth after a one minute penalty due to not maintaining a minimum 80 MPH Kevin Eacret was fifth.
HEAT 1B Andrew Tate started the weekend off with a bang as he grabbed the win from Jeff Bernard and Tom Thompson in third and fourth respectively. Jean Theoret was fifth after minimum speed and N2 violations.
SUNDAY:

HEAT 2A Jeff Bernard and Brian Perkins jumped the gun and Kevin Eacret ran outside the course markers leading to penalties for all involved. Jimmy Shane took the win over Andrew Tate.
HEAT 2B had JMK on top again after the U-16 jumped the gun, earning a one minute penalty and finishing third. The U-3 was second and U-11 fourth
HEAT 3A Jean Theoret's bad luck continued with a Class III penalty, N2 violation and $350 in fines, dropping him to last. Brian Perkins took a well received heat win in the race sponsor's boat. Andrew Tate's U-9 was second, Tom Thompson's U-11 was third and J. Michael Kelly's Graham Trucking U-7 was fourth.
HEAT 3B Jimmy Shane snagged another win with Jeff Bernard and Jimmy King in 2nd & 3rd respectively. Kevin Eacret was DSQ due to running outside the course markers entering the pits.
In the FINAL HEAT, the drama started on the formation lap when there was contact between the U-5 and U-21, leading to a penalty for J. Michael Kelly. Jean Theoret was the trailer but lost a prop and with it the hot section of the engine before the start. Jimmy King was in lane one, Andrew Tate in two, and Jimmy Shane squeezed into lane three at the start for a crowded run into the first turn. Jimmy King pulled off the course with engine trouble as Tate and Shane took off for a five lap battle that gave rookie Andrew Tate his first Unlimited victory in only his third HI start. Shane was second, Perkins third, Bernard fourth, JMK fifth due to a penalty for the prior contact with Perkins. King and Theoret DNF.
NOTE: U-3 points were credited to the U-27.
