Michael Francis Peters Obit

Michael Francis Peters, father of UD'ers Robert and Michael Peters, passed away October 17, 2011 in Windsor, Ontario. Mike was 89. A life-long racing fan, Mike served in the Royal Canadian Navy on the HMCS Transcona during WWII. He owned Mike Peters Ltd. Mechanic extraordinaire for 70 years.

His biggest kick was traveling to San Diego with his family for the races each September. Driver Mark Evans would always take time to visit with Mike and the Peters family.

Mike Peters is survived by his wife, Frances, sons Robert and Michael, and five grandchildren. At the family’s request, donations would be appreciated to Windsor-Essex Therapeutic Riding Assoc., John McGivney Children’s Centre, or to the Windsor Classic Chorale.
