Late in the afternoon the New Martinsville race course was engulfed in a rain storm that interrupted the program. Nevertheless all heats of the limited classes were completed. However there was a one heat 10 mile Free For All that was apparently not completed. Since this race and the completion of the Viking Trophy were probably scheduled late in the day, it is felt that they were cancelled due to the rain storm.

[NOTE: The "Viking Trophy" was supposedly won by So Long, Jr. but I have not found the Viking Trophy competition in any contemporary newspaper accounts. --LF]
