Boro Speedboat Ace Enters Gold Cup Race

Bob Bogie of Brooklyn has entered and will pilot his boat, Blitz II, in the 40th International Gold Cup regatta in Rockaway Inlet, Jamaica Bay, Sunday, Aug. 10. It was announced today by Darius W. Sylvester, chairman of the Gold Cup committee. Bob, 24, is the only entry from Brooklyn and will be the youngest driver competing for the Gold Cup trophy.

Bogie makes his second Gold Cup appearance. Last year he finished third in Detroit. After the Gold Cup, Bogie raced for the President's Cup on the Potomac River but turned over early in the race. After salvaging his boat he rebuilt the entire hull and engine.
