Gorgeous Jane Russell presents Louis Fageol, Gold Cup winner of the Biscayne Regatta, with the handsome trophy for winning the race with an average speed of 68 miles per hour in his So Long Jr. The scene was the Latin Quarter.

MIAMI. March 3.—(U.P)—Lou Fageol, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, today won the gold cup event in the 34th annual, Biscayne Bay Regatta when Band Leader Guy Lombardo's boat failed to finish the last heat.

Fageol won on points, with two seconds and one first, although Lombardo had taken easy victories in the first two heats. The orchestra leader tried to compete in the finals, but motor trouble reduced his pace to a crawl and he could not even finish within the time limit for second place points.

In the 225 cubic inch class, Jack Cooper, of Kansas City. Mo., won the first heat with a speed of 60.321 and Morlan Visel, Los Angeles, the second in 72.269. Norbert Hollenbach, of McHenry. Ill., and W. T. Robinson, Alexandria Bay, N. Y., each took a second and a third. Visel won both heats for 135 cubic inch hydroplanes.

Cooper won the first heat for 91 cubic inch boats with a speed of 35.957 but finished second to L. M. Howard, St. Petersburg, who took the second heat in 38.827.
