Between July 4 and July 12, 1947 the Seven Litre Class was born with So-Long Jr., turning in its G-1 registration for H-3. Initially the Fageols felt that their seven litre bus engine with increased horsepower over the Lycoming 225 engine would give them a competitive advantage. But with the advent of the Allison engine with at least twice the horsepower of a 30's gold cup engine the Fageol seven litre was overmatched.
