Presidents Trophy To Miss Peps V

Washington, Sept. 22. -- (INS) -- President Truman will present the Eleanor M. Patterson trophy today to Danny Foster of Oakland, Calif., who captured the Presidents Cup regatta power boat feature for the second time in two years. The ceremony will take place at the White House.

Foster piloted Miss Peps V, owned by the Dossin brothers of Detroit, to victory in the race which was held in the choppy waters of the Potomac river Sunday.

Band leader Guy Lombardo's Miss Great Lakes was forced out of the running in the first lap of yesterday’s opening heat when the powerful boat lost her propellor and rudder.

The Hearst trophy was won by John Bramble of Baltimore who averaged 53.971 miles per hour over a 10-mile course in his Pep V. Ed Hanley of Providence was second followed by Al D'Eath of Detroit.
