Maryland Yacht Club Event Has 73 Registered

What promises lo be the largest entry list of the Chesapeake Bay powerboat racing season is in the process of organization for the annual Star-Spangled Banner Regatta of the Maryland Yacht Club, scheduled Sunday and Monday at the club’s Fairview summer quarters on Rock Creek.

Already 73 entries have been received for the two-day holiday event which schedules heats for outboards on Sunday and races for service and racing runabouts and hydroplanes on Monday.

Water Skiing Carded

An added feature on the first day’s card is a water-skiing exhibition.

Following registration and a regatta ball Saturday night, racing will begin Sunday at 1 P.M.

Monday’s activity will commence at 11 A.M., and will feature the Eastern regional championship series for Division II, 225-cubic-inch hydroplanes and the Maryland Gold Cup competition in Division I of this class.

All categories of racing and service runabouts and unlimited runabouts will vie in addition to the popular Pacific-One design craft.
