Keokuk Races Slated Today
Keokuk, Iowa. — Some 15,000 persons ere expected to watch power boat races today and Wednesday at Rand Lake here. Some of the nation's top racers will compete.
Top attraction today will be the unlimited boat class boat owned by Horace Dodge of Detroit and driven by Wild Bill Cantrell of Louisville.
Cantrell recently was voted the top driver in the nation and awarded a trophy. Cantrell in 1949 won the Gold Cup at Detroit, Silver Anniversary Series at Detroit, Presidents Cup at Washington, and National Sweepstakes at Red Rank. N. J.
The regatta is jointly sponsored by the Keokuk Junior Chamber of Commerce, Keokuk Yacht Club and Lions club. If any records are set, they will be recognized by the American Power Boat association.
