Guy Lombardo, band master and speedboat driver, will bring his Gold Cup Class speedster, Tempo VI, here for the Maryland Yacht Club's Star Spangled Banner Regatta tomorrow and Sunday.

Lombardo is slated to race in two events Sunday—the Gold Cup Class at 3.10 P.M. and the Maryland Sweepstakes at 5.45 o'clock. The band leader, who recently reeled off 66.356 miles per hour in the speedy Tempo, will be opposed by Joe Van Blerck. of Freeport, L.l. in his seven-liter racer, AlJo. and Ernie Chase. Big Field Expected

Last year, six boats started in the club's Gold Cup event and an equally large field is expected this week end.

Thirty-five speedboat events are scheduled for the two-day regatta in Spring Gardens. The races are sanctioned by the American Power Boat Association and any records which might be broken will be officially recorded.

Commodore Harry R. Phillips, of the Maryland Yacht Club, has extended an invitation to the general public and boating enthusiasts to witness the races.

Tomorrow's events, starting at 11.30 o’clock, will be exclusively for outboard-motor-driven craft all the way from Class A. hydros to the fast Pacific One designs and 91-cubic-inch hydroplanes.

Foulke To Drive

Besides the Gold Cup and Maryland Sweepstakes events, the Sunday program also includes various classes of inboard-motored service runabouts, and the 135 and 225-cubic-inch hydroplane heats in which Frank Foulke, Essex, is registered.

A number of women drivers are expected in the 48-cubic-inch hydroplane brushes.

William Buettner is chairman of the race committee, H. E. Raney is chief starter and Al Bauer is referee.
