ELIZABETH CITY, N. C., Sepl 28 (AP) — Ten or more of the world's fastest hydroplanes are expected to run in the second annual International Cup Regatta over the Pasquotank River course here Saturday and Sunday.

The racing team of Gale IV and Gale V, unlimited hydroplanes owned by Joseph Schoenith of Detroit, will defend th clean sweep they registered las year. Lee Schoenith, son of the owner, took Gale V across the finish line ahead of Wild Bill Cantrell who was close behind in Gale IV.

Cantrell captured the Detroit Memorial this year in Gale IV. However, Tempo VII, owned by band leader, Guy Lombardo Miss U.S., which won the Rogers Memorial, and several of the top speedboats will provide still competition for the Gales.

Danny Foster, who won the Silver Cup and the President's Cup in Lombardo's new Tempo VII, will go after a new world's speed record over the measured mile as a warmup to the race.
