George Henley made it two in a row by driving Pay 'n Pak to a perfect
three heat win to capture his second straight race and his second win at
Dayton. Weisfield’s set a new heat mark of 102.246 in heat 2-B, and Pak
set a lap record of 107.463 on the tight 2 mile course. Lauterbach Special
qualified for the first time at 90.000 and Schu led the trials with 109.091
mph. Miss Shenandoah did not show up, but Jack Higgins brought the U-76,
renamed Bootheads, for Salt Walther to drive.
