1991 Budweiser Indiana Governor's Cup

Budweiser Indiana Governor's Cup in Madison

U-8 driver George Woods Jr. summed up the course conditions best saying, 'there are holes in the water the size of school buses.'

Early into the (final heat) competition, the boats favored to finish on top, the Miss Budweiser and the Winston Eagle, collided, suffering serious hull damage to both boats. Each was able to finish the race, with the Eagle taking fourth place and the Miss Budweiser taking fifth position. The American Spirit (driven by Mark Evans) hailed her first ever victory, aided by a one-lap penalty assessed to the Eagle after a lane violation which caused the collision with the Budweiser.
